Yellow Cab getting facelift

New ownership is giving Yellow Cab Co. a facelift. Ten private investors in Bowling Green bought the company last month and on March 1 began efforts to improve service. Greg Bright, executive director and majority shareholder, said he wants to preserve the company and make it a better place for employees. Bright has major goals for the company, which currently has 27 cars in its fleet, but says they wont happen overnight. Were in the process of having some bodywork done on some of our vehicles and were going to replace some of our older cars with more upscale models, Bright said. Were adding several Cadillac sedans to our fleet as well. Bright said he realizes the importance of a taxi service. We want to provide safe, comfortable, reliable and friendly service to the community, Bright said. We want people to regain respect for our service. We are planning on having a tight screening process for our employees and we want to establish high standards for our drivers. He said all drivers are drug tested and anyone with a DUI charge in the past four years will not be allowed to drive. Response time is also vital, Bright said. Our company is working hard to manage peak loading hours and communication with our customers on their opinion of our company, Bright said. We are increasing the number of cabs in service during peak hours and the rezoning of our service will make it more efficient as well. He said adding more drivers also is a top priority. This company is … looking for ways to make it the best, Bright said. Bowling Green deserves the best. Bright declined to discuss the purchase price of the company or reveal names of other stockholders.
