MORGANTOWN Nellie Johnson Waynescott, 79, of Elizabeth, Ind., died Feb. 7, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind.The Edmonson County native was a homemaker and a Church of Christ member. She was a daughter of the late James Farris and Nancy Lemay Farris and wife of the late Tower Johnson. She was preceded in death by a son, James Johnson, and a daughter, Roselee Johnson.Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jones Funeral Chapel with burial in Threlkel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.Survivors include her husband, Hubert Waynescott; six sons, Geanie Johnson of Sonora, Ben J. Johnson of Lebanon Junction, Sherman W. Johnson of Shepherdsville, Darrell Johnson of Elizabeth, William Johnson of Leitchfield and Oliver L. Johnson of Morgantown; five daughters, Mary Williams and Rachael Shaw, both of Louisville, Opal Phelps and Myrtie Duke, both of Roundhill, and Gracie Johnson of Morgantown; three stepsons, Dallas Waynescott, Gene Waynescott and Glenn Waynescott, all of Elizabeth; a stepdaughter, Mary Rose Johnson of Elizabeth; a brother, Frank Farris of Smiths Grove; a sister, Rose Ann Johnson of Oakland, Ill.; 31 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
