The final member of the Asian Boyz gang that killed a Bowling Green couple in 1996 was sentenced Monday in Warren Circuit Court. Reuth Short Dog Chong received a 20-year sentence, with six years of it to be served and the remainder probated for five years. He already has served five years. Chong pleaded guilty in January to two counts of criminal facilitation to commit murder, one count of criminal facilitation of first-degree assault, robbery and burglary, both in the second-degree. Chong drove the vehicle to the Gardenside Way home of Kham Phoa Phromratsamy and his ex-wife, Manyvanh Boonprasert. Sophol Saggy Phon shot and killed the couple gang style and shot their daughter, Judy, leaving her for dead. Phon, who was found guilty by a Warren circuit jury, was sentenced to life without parole. Chong received a lesser sentence than others involved in the case because he did not actually go inside the house and was cooperative with police, according to Warren Commonwealths Attorney Steve Wilson. He provided the others with the means to commit the crime by driving them to the home, but did not participate in the crimes, Wilson said. Ae Phannachay pleaded guilty in November to complicity to commit murder, burglary and robbery. Chhon Spikey Pok pleaded guilty in the case in October and in August, Outh Sananikone pleaded guilty, both to the same charges as Phannachay. All received life sentences.
