HASTINGS, Neb. Jerry A. Bean, 64, of Tortola, British Virgin Islands, formerly of Bowling Green, Ky., died Oct. 21, 2002.The Inavale native was a University of Nebraska graduate, a teacher and coach in Ponca and Sioux City, Iowa, was at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Hastings College in Hastings, a head coach for track and field at Western Kentucky University, and coached 26 NCAA track and field All-Americans and nine Olympic athletes.Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 7 at Hastings College Chapel.Survivors include his wife, Malcia Bean; three children, Kim Bean and Greg Bean, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Kylee Bean of Phoenix; a brother, Wally Bean of Inavale; and two sisters, Eleanor Hilsabeck of Red Cloud and Joan Montgomery of Hastings.
