One judge does notalways mean fairness

One judge to always hear your case? Do you really expect that judge to remain fair and impartial, to ignore any previous issues?Previous writers have lauded the fact that the one judge would know about previous concerns. However, a judge is not supposed to have any preconceptions. Each case should be tried only on the merits of that particular case. At times, that requires a different court and judge.Under our Family Court system, you do not have that option. I can see how some lawyers might like Family Court. If you want to appeal the judges decision in Family (District) Court, you have to appeal to the same Family (Circuit) Court before you can appeal higher. A lawyer gets more money for the same job. The participants waste more time and money while their family suffers.Vote no on the Family Court amendment.Anthony CarterBowling Green
