Virginia Rhea Smith Lovan, 56, of Cape Charles, Va., formerly of Bowling Green, died May 22, 2001, at her home.The Bowling Green native was a homemaker and member of Cheriton Baptist Church and the Frances Jones Circle at the church. She was a daughter of the late Ernest Smith and Mamie Smith of Bowling Green, who survives.Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 1027 Broadway Ave., Bowling Green, Ky. 42104.Other survivors include her husband, Wendell David Lovan; a son, Anthony David Lovan of Topeka, Kan.; three sisters, Sue Elcher, Judy Goff and Brenda Martin, all of Bowling Green; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
