Jefferson D. Caskey, 78, of Bowling Green died at 7:19 p.m. April 21, 2001, at The Medical Center.The Lancaster, S.C., native was a retired professor of library science at Western Kentucky University, a graduate of Erskine College in Due West, S.C., Syracuse University and University of Houston, a life member of Kentucky Library Association, a member of National Council of Teachers of English, Phi Delta Kappa and Kentucky Council of Teachers of English, a published author, a member of First Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a son of the late John Lathan Caskey and Lessie Helms Caskey.Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
