Easter spirit comes to BG

Southcentral Kentucky will be filled with the sights and sounds of Easter activities this week. Here are some of the events:Bowling GreenBowling Green Parks and Recreation Departments Easter egg hunt for children up to age 10 will be Saturday at Roland Bland Park. Activities will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by the hunt at 10:30 a.m. In case of inclement weather, the hunt will be at F.O. Moxley Recreation Center Gym. Warren County Parks and Recreation Department will have Easter egg hunts Saturday. The hunts will be at 10 a.m. at Delafield Community Center, at noon at Basil Griffin Park, at 1 p.m. at Ed Spear Community Park and at 4 p.m. at Richardsville Community Park. Games for children and adults will follow the Richardsville hunt at the park. First Church of the Nazarene will present Calvarys Story: The Message of Sins Forgiven and Forgotten at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church. An Easter sunrise service will be at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at Bowling Green Gardens on Lovers Lane. Eastwood Baptist Church Worship Choir and Orchestra will present the Easter musical On a Hill Too Far Away at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church. Creative Ministries of Second Baptist Church will present The Christos, a drama of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, at 7 p.m. nightly through Saturday. The Methodist Men of Rockfield Methodist Church will present a dramatic production of The Last Supper at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday. Free tickets are available by contacting the church parsonage. Rockfield Methodist Church will have a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. Friday, an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday and an Easter sunrise service at 6 p.m. Sunday. Breakfast will follow the Sunday service with Sunday school at 9 a.m. and morning worship at 10 a.m.Dedicated Missionary Baptist Church will have sunrise service at 6 a.m. outside the church followed by Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., Easter worship service at 11 a.m., an Easter egg hunt after the Easter worship service and a special service at 6 p.m.Juniper Junction will present The Easter Egg Tree at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Mall. Registration and activities will be at 1:45 p.m.FranklinFranklin-Simpson Community Good Friday Service will be at 12:10 p.m. Friday at Franklin United Methodist Church. Community worshipers will walk around the town square behind a person carrying a cross in commemoration of Jesus. The offering will benefit Habitat for Humanity. RussellvilleThe fifth annual Logan County Easter Egg Hunt for children ages birth to 10 will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Logan County High School. Prizes will be awarded in each age group. Good Friday activities at First Presbyterian Church will include 24 hours of prayer with a worship service at 12:10 p.m. Friday. Easter services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday. First Baptist Churchs adult choir will present the Easter musical The Christ, the Cross and the Crown at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Antioch Baptist Church will present the Easter play In His Steps at 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday and at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church. Sunrise service will be at 6 a.m. Sunday at First General Baptist Church. A Sonrise Service will be at 6 a.m. Sunday at Wileys Chapel Church. Breakfast will follow the service. Cedar Grove Baptist Church will sponsor The Seven Last Words from the Cross at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. AuburnAuburn Historical Societys second annual 5K Easter Run-Walk and 1-Mile Fun Walk will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at McCutchen-Coke Park in Auburn. Registration will be at 7 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the historical society. Good Friday service will be at noon Friday at Auburn Christian Church. Auburn Easter Sunrise Service will be at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church. DeerlickPleasant Union General Baptist Church will present the musical and drama Calvarys Story at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at the church. The church also will have an Easter egg hunt for children up to age 9 at 10 a.m. Saturday. Lunch will be provided. BrownsvillePleasant Union Churchs annual Easter pageant will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. EdmontonBowling Parks sixth annual Easter egg hunt for children up to age 10 will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the park. LucasBarren River Lake State Resort Parks annual Easter egg hunt for children ages 1-10 will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the parks Highland Games field.
