SCOTTSVILLE Home burglaries in Allen County apparently have decreased significantly since late last week, Allen County Sheriffs Detective Steve Woods said. Sheriffs deputies raided two Adolphus homes, confiscating seven guns and arresting four people believed to be part of a theft ring that spanned southcentral Kentucky and middle Tennessee, Woods said. It slowed our burglaries down, he said of the raid. Woods alleges that the homes contained fencing operations. For the past few months, Allen County experienced a spike in home burglaries in which robbers kicked in doors and stole guns and jewelry, leaving little evidence behind such as a foot prints on kicked in doors, Woods said. Thursday, someone reported seeing two men leaving a home believed to have been broken into, Woods said. The person, whose name was not released, provided deputies with a vehicle description and a description of two men, he said. The tip led police to two Adolphus houses one at 140 McDonald Road and another at 940 Blankenship Road where deputies located seven guns and assorted jewelry, he said. So far, police have identified legal owners of four of the guns, Woods said. The guns are from Trousdale, Macon, Sumner and Smith Counties in Tennessee, he said. The McDonald Road residence is the home of Luther Tuttle Jr., 55, and the Blankenship Road residence is the home of Jerry Randal Roalin, 44, Woods said. Roalin was released from Simpson County Jail six months ago after serving time for forgery and shoplifting, he said. Roalin and Tuttle both were charged with receiving stolen property and for drug possession, Woods said. Jerry Hardcastle, 31, and David Allen White, 28, of Westmoreland, Tenn., also were arrested during the two raids and charged with burglary, Woods said. Hardcastle and White are facing burglary charges in Tennessee where Hardcastle was already on probation, Woods said. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms will investigate the case involving guns believed to have been stolen and then taken across state lines, he said. Police also arrested Bob White, 67, 3349 Macedonia Road, who they said was attempting to buy a gun from one of the men arrested. Bob White was charged with receiving stolen property but he is not believed to be a part of a theft ring and is no relation to David Allen White, Woods said. Bob White and Tuttle were released on bail from Allen County Detention Center. Tuttle was released on a $20,000 bond at 10 percent. Hardcastle still is lodged in Allen County in lieu of a $22,000 bond. David White remains jailed on a $22,000 bond; Roalins bond is set at $20,000.
