Dr. John M. Chamberlin, 65, of Bowling Green died at 1:40 a.m. Nov. 10, 2000, at his home.The Madison, Tenn., native was a Western Kentucky University and Duke University graduate, a professor of chemistry at Western Kentucky University, a Sunday school teacher at Christ United Methodist Church, a Royal Ranger Commander at Assembly of God Church, a leader of Living Word Fellowship, faculty advisor of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, and a member of Living Hope Baptist Church where he was on the prayer team, and a member of the Royal Ranger Camping Fraternity at Assembly of God Church. He was a son of the late Richard MacMullen Chamberlin and Kathleen Wolford Coover Chamberlin.Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to World Vision, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, N.C., 28607-3000.Survivors include his wife, Janet Christy Chamberlin; a daughter, Christy Garrett of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sisters, Camille Walthall of Belle Meade, N.J., and Julie Houk of Battle Creek, Mich.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
