RUSSELLVILLE One Logan County teen is dead and another was jailed following a Tuesday night shooting. According to Kentucky State Police logs, a caller said he was taking Monty Hollins, 17, of Russellville to Logan Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle. The caller told dispatchers Hollins was conscious but had been shot in the abdomen, the log said. Hollins was shot twice with a small-caliber handgun, police reports said. Hollins later was transported by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., where he was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to Vanderbilt. Dementri Ogburn, 19, of Russellville was arrested Wednesday in connection with the incident and lodged in Logan County Detention Center, according to Logan District Court records. Ogburn, according to court records, told police that he and Hollins argued near a Carter Road home and that Hollins accidentally was shot.
