MADISONVILLE — Dr. Virgil Wayne Lowe, 64, of Madisonville died Sept. 17, 1999, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.The Bowling Green native was a graduate of Bowling Green High School, Western Kentucky University and Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, an Air Force veteran, a pediatrician, a former department head and former chief of staff of Trover Clinic in Madisonville, past president of Kiwanis Club and a member of Duplicate Bridge Club and Big Brothers & Big Sisters program. He was a son of the late Murray Lowe and Geneva Jenkins.Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, where he was a member, deacon and Sunday School teacher, with burial in Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the service Tuesday at the church.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First United Methodist Church of Madisonville or the American Heart Association.Survivors include his wife, Lou Lowe of Madisonville; three daughters, Debbie Wisotzkey of Madisonville, Vickie Whobrey of Elizabethtown and Kim Reid of Louisville; a sister, Judy Davenport of Bowling Green; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
