Dr. William Gladstone Begley II, 62, of Bowling Green died at 12:50 a.m. Aug. 12, 1999, at Greenview Regional Hospital.The Hazard native was on the active staff at Greenview Regional Hospital, was a former chief of staff at Bowling Green-Warren County Hospital and Greenview, former chief of surgery at Greenview, past president of Kentucky Society of Otolaryngology and a member of American Rhinologic Society, the board of trustees at Greenview, American Medical Association, Kentucky Medical Association and Warren County Medical Society. He was a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He was lieutenant commander of Navy Medical Corp. and a graduate of Centre College and University of Louisville Medical School and served his residency in otolaryngology at University of Louisville Medical Center. He was a son of the late Ernest Edward Begley and Virginia Bunch Begley.Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at The Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby and Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, and will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to American Cancer Society.Survivors include his wife, Jenna Anna Parker Begley; a son, Ernest Edward Begley II of Bowling Green; two daughters, Joanna Caroline Begley of Bowling Green and Virginia Louise Eidson of Longwood, Fla.; and three grandsons.
