HORSE CAVE James I. Winn Jr., 87, of Horse Cave died at 10:55 a.m. EST Dec. 22, 1999, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.The Hart County native was a graduate of Horse Cave High School, founding partner of Winn Funeral Home, founder of Winn Trucking Co., founding member of Horse Cave-Caverna Board of Education, owner of Winn Farms, director emeritus of Horse Cave Banking Center, a member and past president of Horse Cave Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of Bearwallow Masonic Lodge. He was a son of the late James I Winn Sr. and Alma Edwards Thompson Winn and husband of the late Virginia Boyd Winn.Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Horse Cave Baptist Church, where he was a lifetime member, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Winn Funeral Home and 12:30 p.m. until the service Sunday at the church.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Horse Cave Baptist Church Building Fund.Survivors include two daughters, Matilda Botwin of Horse Cave and Jimmie Lou Groves of Hummelstown, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
