Ready or not, the most talked about New Years Eve in decades is almost here. But whether youre anticipating the passing of 1999 or stressing over it, there are plenty of places at which to ring in the new year. BOWLING GREENNightclubsCafe Deluxe and Kelly Greens are planning what they expect to be the biggest party on Fountain Square this year with Skillet Jones performing upstairs and Dave Dye downstairs. The $15 admission price gets you in the door of both clubs and includes all of your drinks. The Eclipse, 1354 Adams St., will celebrate the new year with Fender Benders in concert at 9 p.m. Doors will be open from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Hors doeuvres, party favors and champagne at midnight will be provided. Admission is $40 a couple or $25 for singles. Reservations are suggested. Gold Dust Lounge, 3315 Old Louisville Road, will feature entertainment by Backtrack, which will play country and a variety of rock n roll from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Champagne will be served at midnight. Admission is $15 a couple, $10 for singles. Good Tymes, 1607 U.S. 31-W By-Pass, will have a blowout Millennium Superbash from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Early Bird food and appetizers will be available, as will complimentary champagne and party favors. Tickets are $28 a person or $50 a couple. Ritas Pub, 952 Fairview, will feature singer Mike Maggard, who covers everything from country to rock to show tunes. The New Years Eve party will run from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. with hors doeuvres, finger foods and free champagne at midnight. There is no cover charge. After midnight, the club also will offer free shuttle rides home within a 10-mile radius. Ron & Fays Place, 819 Church Ave., will be open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., offering hors doeuvres and serving champagne at midnight. State Street Pub and Bowling Green Country Club will kick off the new year with a reception/open house from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the pub at 700 State St. Light refreshments will be served as patrons get a chance to glimpse the still-under-renovation facility. The celebration then will continue at Bowling Green Country Club, 251 Beech Bend Road, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Kenny and the Krooners will perform, an appetizer buffet and keg beer will be served along with a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $150 a couple or $75 a person and are available by calling the country club. Hotels and motelsNellie OBryans inside Greenwood Executive Inn, 1000 Executive Way, is offering two packages. For $90 a couple, celebrants can get dinner, champagne, party favors and hors doeuvres at midnight. For $155 a couple, the package also includes overnight accommodations. Liberation will perform from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. For reservations, contact Greenwood Executive Inn. Ramada Inn, 4767 Scottsville Road, will swing through the decades with live entertainment by Pryor Express from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The party will include overnight accommodations, a buffet dinner, drinks, party favors, a champagne toast at midnight and a continental breakfast. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $249 a couple. For reservations, call Ramada Inn. University Plaza Hotel, 1021 Wilkinson Trace, will offer three millennium party packages. A party-only package for $249 a couple includes dinner, a champagne toast at midnight, entertainment by What is Hip and party favors. A standard room package for $349 includes an overnight stay, as does the two-room suite package for $399 a couple. Doors open at 7 p.m. The party ends at 1 a.m. For reservations, contact the hotel. RestaurantsParakeet Cafe, 951 Chestnut St., will serve up some of its best dishes in seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. For $30 a person, patrons can dine on a four-course meal with their choice of three entrees. For reservations, contact the restaurant. For kidsZapzone, 2409 Scottsville Road, will host its annual all-night New Years Eve party for children. From 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., children can enjoy unlimited laser tag and Web City, a webbed jungle gym with mazes, slides and swings for $15. Participants can bring their sleeping bags, in case they get tired. GLASGOW Glasgow-Barren County will end its bicentennial celebration by welcoming the new year with a bang. A midnight fireworks display at Fort Williams will be visible from any of the shopping centers on U.S. 31-E in Glasgow. HORSE CAVEDart Container Corp. will have a fireworks display at dusk on New Years Day at Gent Factory Outlet. The display will be in celebration of the Hart County plants 20th anniversary. SCOTTSVILLEThe annual New Years Eve Gospel Singing, sponsored by Allen County Singing Convention will be from 7 p.m. until after midnight at Allen County-Scottsville High School. Groups scheduled to perform include Just Cause and Harbor Lights of Glasgow, The Heavenly Heritage, The Sullivans, The Wolfe Family, The Holders, The Covenant, The Lyles and others. Admission is free. NASHVILLE, TENN.Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will be in concert at 8 p.m. at Gaylord Entertainment Center, formerly Nashville Arena. Tickets, which are $35 to $95, are available through Ticketmaster. Wildhorse Saloon, 120 S. Second Ave., will open its doors at 5 p.m. Randall Brothers will open the show at 8 p.m.; country singer Chris LeDoux will perform at 10:30 p.m. Cost is $99 a person and includes champagne at midnight.3rd & Lindsey, 818 S. Third Ave., will feature Jonell Mosser and Enough Rope in concert starting at 9 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner packages also are available. Gibsons Caffe Milano will feature country music newcomer Mandy Barnett in shows at 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Cost is $109 a person and includes dinner, a glass of champagne and the concert. Reservations are required. 12th & Porter Playroom 114 N. 12th Ave. will bring in da noise and bring in da funk with the dance/funk band Chris Mitchell & the Collection starting at 8:30 p.m. Cost is $20 per person and includes champagne and party favors. The restaurant will open at 5:30 p.m.General Jackson Riverboat will allow patrons to cruise into the new year starting at 9 p.m. The cruise will include a five-course dinner and orchestral dancing. It will be kicked off by the music of Outrageous Ed and His Music Machine at 10:30 p.m.OWENSBOROOwensboro Parks & Recreation Department has myriad events scheduled for New Years Eve at RiverPark Center. Activities will include a variety of musical performances, magic shows, dancing, workshops, a parade and a fireworks display at midnight. Admission is free. Executive Inn Riverfront, 1 Executive Blvd., will feature concerts by Ronnie McDowell and Big Heart, each playing shows at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tickets range from $145 to $295 a couple and include accommodations, dinner, breakfast, party favors and champagne at midnight. PADUCAHExecutive Inn, 1 Executive Blvd., will revisit the sounds of shoo-wop and doo-wop with The Van Dells in concert at 8 p.m. Tickets are $54 $64 for VIP seating and include a champagne buffet and party favors.
