Chamber planning international events

Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating International Week this week with a variety of events. An international student reception for high school exchange students and Western Kentucky Universitys international students will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the chamber. A Global Awareness Breakfast Series will kick off at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the chamber. Fridays breakfast will features guest speakers Martha Deputy of Western Kentucky Refugee Mutual Assistance Inc., Abraham Williams of the Housing Authority of Bowling Green and Samir Rastoder of Woodwork of Mid-America. They will discuss refugee assistance and employment, focusing on how foreign-born residents of southcentral Kentucky could be the solution to employers workforce problems.Reservations for the breakfast will be accepted through Wednesday at the chamber.
