Championship celebration at Bowling Green Junior High

Joe Imel/Daily News Bowling Green Junior High hosted a pep rally Monday to celebrate two State Championships earned over the weekend. This is the second year the Girls Cross Country and Football teams have earned state titles.The Purple eighth-graders won their second consecutive state championship Sunday in Lexington, running away from Anderson County 34-6. It was the 23rd straight win for the team, which completed a perfect two-year run after winning the state crown as seventh graders a year ago. The girls cross country team won back to back state titles.

Bowling Green Junior High School hosted a pep rally Monday to celebrate state championships won over the weekend by the eighth-grade football team and the girls’ cross country team.

Both state titles were the second straight for both programs.
