I am a fifth-grader who cares a lot about the environment.
I think that people should stop dumping chemicals on their lawns just to make the grass greener.
I don’t see why someone would wipe out all animal life and most plant life, make normal tap water unsafe to drink and ruin our caves just to have a green lawn for a month or so.
I also think that we should drive less and turn off our lights so we can pollute less. I was disappointed by how few people turned off their lights from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 29.
This newspaper should have published the lights-out event. I thank the people who did turn their lights off.
